APPROACH

Wine consumption in India, despite Sula's dominance, remains at an early stage. Research showed that for many young urban consumers, wine feels complex, formal, and hard to navigate. Sula identified the RTD can as the format to close that gap, and the brief was to design a packaging system for their wine-in-a-can range that could attract a younger audience without losing any premium credibility. Our approach drew from the visual heritage of traditional wine, using classic typography and refined composition to capture the assurance of a label that knows what it is, then reworked that through a contemporary lens: simpler, more direct, and built for a can rather than a bottle. Each varietal received its own distinct colour palette, chosen to reflect the character of the wine and make selection instinctive at shelf. The result isn't a wine brand that's been simplified. It's a wine brand that's been liberated.

The hardest brief in the RTD category is making something feel premium when the format itself signals convenience. Every design decision on the Sula can had to earn its place by doing two jobs at once; drawing in someone who's never bought wine before, while reassuring someone who has.
