APPROACH

Mamie Yova is a French dairy brand entering into the Indian flavoured yogurt market. The category challenge was immediate: in India, yogurt can't simply replace dahi, a pantry staple with deep cultural roots. So rather than fight that battle, we moved the category entry point sideways, positioning the product as a snack, a guilt-free dessert, not a dahi substitute. Health was a category association with yogurt; the opportunity was to lead with indulgence instead. With exotic ingredients and a genuine French brand history to draw on, we built the positioning around "Deliciously French," using France's association with gourmet food and culinary expertise as the emotional engine.

On pack, that positioning was brought to life through blue stripes borrowed from French dairy and cultural cues, exotic ingredients placed front and centre, and a system of bold callouts, handwritten type, and recipe-paper patches designed to feel small-batch and gourmet rather than mass-produced.

The blue stripe does double duty: it's instantly recognisable as a dairy cue, and it roots the brand in French visual language before a shopper reads a single word. Exotic fruit illustrations and bold ingredient callouts sit front and centre on each flavour, reinforcing indulgence over health messaging.
Handwritten script and recipe-paper patches, complete with torn edges, carry a natural, small-batch gourmet feel across the range, standing in deliberate contrast to the clinical, clean-label look most competitors default to. The same system repeats consistently across every flavour, so the range reads as one brand on shelf while each variant stays easy to tell apart.

The result: the packaging scored high in consumer research on both memorability and brand recall, validating that indulgence, backed by a distinctive, French-coded design system, was the right lever to pull in a category where yogurt was competing with dahi for pantry space.
